All Cases against Malaiya Closed

All the cases registered against Environment and Water Resources Minister Jayant Malaiya for use and allotment of plots of land have been closed by the Lokayukta Office, said an official release.

The Lokayukta office, which had registered five cases against against the minister, has closed all these cases after inquiry and investigation, release said.

Earlier, complaints registered with the Lokayukta office against the minister alleged that out of the 10 acre land of the Indore Development Authority Plan No. 54 V. U.-3 reserved for bus terminal and bus stand, 3.59 acres of land was allotted for commercial to M/s Sriram Builders giving them undue benefit.

While looking into the matter, the Lokayukta office came to the conclusion that the government had acted under provisions of the Madhya Pradesh Nagar Tatha Gram Nivesh Adhiniyam 1973, said release.

Section 35 of the Adhiniyam, there is provision to reserve land for public utility or change it from the development plan. Therefore, the department under request from the transport department and after agreement by the director, Madhya Pradesh Nagar tatha Gram Nivesh Adhiniyam provisions, the land was declared as excess and separated from the traffic and transport land use. The Lokayukta office had closed this case on 10 August 2009.

After investigation the Lokayukta office had closed the case on 1 October 2008, pertaining to allotting 10 thousand sq. feet of land to monthly magazine ‘Ojaswini’.

The Lokayukta office found as per rules the recommendation for use of the land reserved for traffic land use under Indore Development Plan 2021 for residential purpose and allotted to M/s Devine Builders, release said.

The Lokayukta office found proper the recommendation made under section 16 of Madhya Pradesh Gram Nivesh Adhiniyam 1973. The Lokayukta had closed the file on 10 December 2008.

The Lokayukta had, after investigation, closed the case on 22 January 2008 about the complaint made against giving on lease the two plots of land to Guruji Sevanyas.

This land was reserved by the Indore Development Authority under developed plan for medical use. Because, with prior permission land can be allotted on concessional conditions to any registered public institution for construction of hospital, educational institute, orphanage etc.

The Lokayukta, after investigation, had also closed on 7 October 2008 the case pertaining to converting Sampark Bhumi for commercial use on Ravindranath Tatgore Marg, Indore City. The Lokayukta found that the above land was reserved for commercial use as per Indore Development Plan, 1991.
