Farmers interests are paramount: CM

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that proper price of onion will be made available to farmers. for this, the state government will purchase onion. He said that farmers’ interests are paramount. Onion from farmers will be purchased at Rs. 6 per kg through MARKFED. For this, 71 centres have been declared. Onion will be purchased from June 4 to 30.

The Chief Minister informed about this decision through video-conferencing during review of ‘Gramoday Se Bharat Uday Abhiyan’ to all district collectors and public representatives today. chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa informed that the state government has decided to procure onion purchase in view of losses being suffered by farmers due to declining prices of onion. For this, MARKFED has been appointed as Nodal Agency.

Onion procurement centres have been set up at following places: – Bhopal, Berasia, Sehore, Ashta, Ganjbasoda, Biaora, Sarangpur, Raisen, Hoshangabad, Harda, Indore, Sanver, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Sendhwa, Barwani, Dhar, Badnavar, Dhamnod, Ujjain, Tarana, Nagda, Barnagar, Khhachrod, Mahidpur, Dewas, Kannod, Sonkuchh, Hatpipalya, Mandsaur, Shamgarh, Garoth, Bhanpura, Pipalya, Neemuch, Ratlam, Jaora, Shajapur, Shujalpur, Akodia, Moman Barodia, Susner, Barod, Agar, Nalkhera, Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Panna , Chhatarpur, Jabalpur, Pandhurna, Saunsar, Chhindwara, Chorai, Katni, Balaghat, Seoni, Gadarwara, Satna, Maihar, Rewa, Hanumna, Laskhar, Shivpuri, Morena, Kelaras, Guna, Ashok Nagar and Datia.
