Police beat the people protesting against Kudankulam plant

NEW DELHI: Police allegedly beat protestors agitating against Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant, after a day Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa announced her support for the locals.

On Thursday night four disabled youth who were a part of the agitation have been injured.
Protests have escalated at the nuclear plant site with thousands continuing with their fast demanding the scrapping of the project.

On Thursday 700 protesters blocked roads and stopped 700 scientists from entering the site.

The chief minister said that she would go along with the sentiments of the locals. Although the PM had urged Jayalalithaa to support the plant.
