494 auxiliary polling booths sanctioned for Lok Sabha elections

Bhopal: Election Commission of India has accorded sanction to proposal of setting up 494 auxiliary polling centres set up for Lok Sabha elections in the state. Chief Electoral Officer Shri Jaideep Govind has directed district election officers to ensure all necessary arrangements at these auxiliary polling centres. So far, sanction has been accorded to 636 auxiliary polling booths.

Of these, 21 auxiliary polling centres have been sanctioned in Morena district, Gwalior 32, Datia 21, Guna 6, Sagar 2, Chhatarpur 13, Panna 10, Satna 29, Rewa 20 and 14 auxiliary polling booths have been sanctioned in Sidhi district.

Similarly, 16 auxiliary polling centres have been sanctioned in Singrauli district, 29 Jabalpur, 2 Dindori, 13 Seoni, 13 Narsinghpur, 5 Vidisha, 43 Bhopal, 8 Sehore, 8 Rajgarh and 3 new auxiliary polling centres have been sanctioned in Agar-Malwa district. The commission has also sanctioned 2 auxiliary polling centres in Burhanpur, 165 Indore, 11 Ujjain and 8 auxiliary polling centres have been sanctioned in Mandsaur district. The state has total 53 thousand 946 polling booths where elections will be held in 29 Lok Sabha constituencies in 3 rounds.
