Mehbooba Mufti not allowed pro-Palestine protest, ‘almost’ manhandled: Daughter

People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chief Mehbooba Mufti’s daughter Iltija on Monday accused the J&K administration of selectively targeting her party.

Iltija, 35, claimed her mother was allegedly almost manhandled by the security forces as she wanted to protest for Palestine. “They did not allow her to protest peacefully. Why is the local administration consistently since 2019 cracking down on PDP? You denounce us as anti-nationals. Our activities are peaceful”, Iltija, who was recently appointed as Mufti’s media advisor, was quoted by PTI as saying.

Iltija spoke on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war,“People across the world are coming out to support Palestinian civilians who are suffering from atrocities. They are being attacked with phosphorus bombs. At least 1,500 children have been slaughtered in the past two weeks”, she added.

“Let us not forget the Indian government’s official position is that they have condemned Israel’s aggression. Israel is flouting humanitarian international law and has cut medical, electricity supplies. Why is the local administration selectively targeting the PDP?” Iltija

On the ongoing Israel-Hamas war, National Conference leader Omar Abdullah said,””We have been against the events unfolding in Gaza from the very beginning. I don’t understand the killing of innocent people who have no connection to the attacks on Israel”.
