Over 30 thousand banners, posters and hoardings removed from government and private buildings

Bhopal: Model code of conduct is being strictly enforced in Madhya Pradesh to ensure free and fair Lok Sabha election. On the second day after announcement for Lok Sabha elections, posters, banners, wall paintings etc. were removed promptly in cities and towns of the state. Under the provisions of Prevention of Defacement of Public Property Act, 30 thousand 758 wall paintings, posters, banners etc have been removed from public and private properties. As many as 28 thousand 502 posters, banners and wall paintings have been removed from public properties and 2256 publicity material from private properties.

So far, 9 thousand 559 wall writings, 8 thousand 440 posters, 6 thousand 58 banners and 4 thousand 445 other materials have been removed from public properties. During the action, one case has also been registered. Similarly, 1376 wall writings, 693 posters, 680 banners and 506 other materials have been removed from public properties.

As many as 2 cases of misuse of vehicles have come to the fore in districts. Similarly, 2 cases have been registered for holding of meeting speeches without official permission.

Action under Motor Vehicle Act has been taken by SDM of Chanderi in Ashok Nagar district against Union Minister of State for Energy Shri Jyotiraditya Scindia for violation of code of conduct. Shri Scindia’s video film-equipped vehicle was being plied without permission from RTO. In another case, Bhopal Collector is investigating a complaint lodged by Indian National Congress against Chief Minister and others regarding violation of permission for dharna. SDM Amarwada is enquiring into complaint by Smt. Kamini Shah (Congress) of Chhindwara alleging that Amarwara’s SDO Forest Shri Basant Kakre is posted since June 2011 and indulging into political activities.
