With Hurriyat Conference moderate faction leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq scheduled to visit China at the invitation of an NGO, external affairs minister SM Krishna has said that he is free to travel anywhere he wants.
“He is free to travel wherever he wants,” Krishna told reporters outside Parliament House.
Krishna also made it clear that the ministry of external affairs encouraged such visits whether these were to “Pakistan or China”.
It should be noted that Mirwaiz will be visiting China as a guest of an NGO and will give a lecture there.
In response to a question if India was contemplating over extradition of 26/11 accused David Coleman Headley and Tahawwur Hussain Rana and some of the accused based in Pakistan, the mister said, “Investigations are still on. We are awaiting the report of the investigation.”
He said that once the report was submitted, the government would take appropriate steps.
