Milk is being sent from MP to Delhi, Mumbai and Nagpur

BHOPAL (MPINFO): Madhya Pradesh is on the road to White Revolution. The quantum of daily milk collection has gone up by 80 percent in just two years.

One and a half lakh liters of milk is being sent from the state to Delhi, Mumbai and Nagpur. Four lakh liters of milk powder is being produced everyday. The rate of annual constitution of cooperative milk societies has gone up by two and a half times as compared to previous years. All the Dairy Federations of the state are running in profit. Innovations are being made in marketing strategy in view of fast increasing milk production. This information was given at a review meeting of Animal Husbandry Department chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan here on Wednesday.

Animal Husbandry Minister Ajay Vishnoi, Chief Secretary Avani Vaish, Principal Secretary Animal Husbandry Prabhanshu Kamal and MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation Limited’s Managing Director Sudha Chaudhary were present at the meeting.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that animal husbandry is a major source of economic prosperity of marginal farmers and landless labourers. The revenue generated from animal husbandry can give a new flip to rural economy.

There are immense possibilities in this sector. He stressed the need for maintaining the pace of the dedicated and sincere efforts for making Madhya Pradesh the top state in milk production in the country.
