CM Reviews Implementation of Investment Proposals

Bhopal  —  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday met representatives of 22 industries and educational establishments and apprised himself of the progress of the implementation of the proposed units involving investment of Rs. 1,00,673 crore in the state.

The Chief Minister held one-to-one discussions with representatives of all the establishments at the Mantralaya and apprised himself of the difficulties being experienced by them in the establishment of their proposed ventures and instructed officials to extend all possible help required to complete the projects within the prescribed time frame.

Urging the representatives to strive for the timely completion of their projects, Chouhan cautioned that the units and mines failing to commence operations even after the allotment of land would result in the cancellation of the lease awarded to them.

During the discussions, several representatives cited cases relating to forest land, tribals land and cases of allotment of coal mines from the Government of India as the primary reasons causing the delay in the establishment of their units.

The Chief Minister directed the district administration concerned and Revenue Department to extend necessary cooperation in cases pertaining to land, safeguarding the interests of tribals and farmers. He said that he had taken up the issue of delay in allotment of coal mines with the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, and the subsequent assurance given by the Center.

Christopher (VP, Bina Power and Jayprakash Power ventures), Anshuman Ruia (Director, Essar Power), AG Singebar Director, ACC), Aseem Chouhan (Amity University) and R.Kasliwal (Advisor, Hindalco).

During the meeting the Chief Minister was informed that:

Work on establishment of the proposed Dhirubhai Ambani Technical Institute in Bhopal will commence in the next three months.

Land acquisition for establishment of 3960 megawatt power plant to be established by Reliance Power at Sasan in Sidhi district is underway and construction activity on the land already acquired has commenced.

The Revenue Department will initiate steps regarding the land for the proposed mega thermal power plant at Chitrangee in Sidhi district.

Process of establishment of a 30 lakh tonne annual capacity cement plant in Satna district by the Birla Corporation was stalled due to an appeal filed by some farmers against acquisition of their land.

The company has set up a 15 megawatt power house that will generate electricity through the heat generated by the clinker. It was decided to initiate necessary action for providing water for this power house.

Necessary action will be taken for allotment of land for establishment of two units of 70 lakh tonnes annual capacity proposed to be set up by Sanghi Industries in Sihora tahsil of Jabalpur district. The company is already in the process of establishing power plants of 60 megawatt capacity at Katni and Satna.

An iron-ore based plant involving an estimated investment of Rs. 1100 crore is proposed to be set up by the M/s. Euro Brand in Hargarh industrial area of Jabalpur district. The company has sought permission for exploration of the ore in area of about 1500 hectare. The Mining Department would take necessary action in this regard.

M/s. SPJ Steel has proposed to set up an integrated steel plant and power plant involving an estimated investment of Rs. 2250 crore at Geedam (Batiagarh) in Damoh district. The company has already obtained the environmental sanction from the Government of India. The process of allotment of land and mines for this project will be completed in the prescribed time limit.

Abhishek Industries is establishing an integrated textile park at Budni in Sehore district. The company has requested for widening of a two-kilometer road. The company has also requested for increasing the working hours of women workers upto 10.00 p.m. The move would provide employment to an additional two thousand women.

SEL Manufacturing has plans to establish a textile and paper mill at an estimated cost of Rs. 3110 crore at Keeratpur near Itarsi. The company has demanded the facility of road and link road for the private land being purchased by the company for their proposed project. Necessary action would be taken after examining the demand in this regard.

M/s. Madhya Pradesh Agro Products would set up a rock-phosphate based plant at Sorat (Bunda) in Sagar district. The company has applied for additional land for their project. Necessary action would be taken in this regard after examining their demand.

Goren Dehydrated plans to set up a potato processing unit near Indore.
Anik Ferro Alloy has proposed to set up a Ferro Alloy Project at an estimated cost of Rs. 500 crore at Meghnagar in Jhabua district.

M/s. Jhabua Power is working on establishment of a 1200 megawatt capacity power plant at Barela Gorakhpur in Seoni district. For this, the state government has made a recommendation to the Government of India for coal linkage to the proposed project.

M/s. Bina Power is setting up a power plant of 1250 megawatt capacity at Sirchopi in Sagar district. The first unit of this project would go into power generation upto 2011.

M/s. Jayprakash Power has already launched construction work for establishment of a power plant of 1320 megawatt capacity involving an estimated investment of Rs. 6000 crore in Singrauli district.

Necessary action would be ensured for enactment of an Act for establishment of Amity University in Gwalior. The building of this university has already been constructed.

Hindalco Industries would set up an aluminum plant and power house at a cost of Rs. 7700 crore at Bargawan in Singrauli district.

Allotment of land for film city, air cargo hub and special education zone at Bagroda in Bhopal district is in the final stages.
