Maoists Clash with Villagers in Lalgarh; Three Injured

Amid tension over suspected Maoists clashing with villagers in West Bengal’s Midnapore district, police have launched a search operation near Enayatpur village for rebels who clashed with villagers on Monday evening.

According to reports, nobody has been killed as yet, but at least three people were injured in the ambush.

The people in Enayatpur village, situated some 15-20 kms from the district headquarters of Midnapore, who clashed with the Maoists were part of a resistance group formed by the CPM to counter attacks by the Maoists.
