Specialities of state should be publicised in world to boost tourism

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that specialities of the state should be publicised throughout the world to promote tourism. This will attract people of the country and world towards Madhya Pradesh. He directed Tourism Department to chalk out an action plan for this.

Reviewing activities under Tourism Year in the state, the Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has beautiful jungles, national parks, unmatched grandeur, archaeological sites and rich heritage tourism. These should be publicised in the country and world. Due to this, Madhya Pradesh’s attraction will emerge at international level and increase interest of foreign tourists.

The Chief Minister said that tourism activities and features of the state should be advertised in both the country and abroad. Besides, Simhastha should also be branded properly so that state’s tourism and the mega event is discussed in the country and world. He said that a mega event should be held before Simhastha.

The Chief Minister directed Tourism Department to preserve Minto Hall, the Old Vidhan Sabha building. He said that this historic building should be converted to convention centre. The Chief Minister also apprised himself of preparations for Vishwa Hindi Sammelan. Works and activities under Tourism Year were also reviewed. It was informed that Tourism Year was launched on April 14, 2015. Various programmes are being held under the Year to promote tourism.

Minister of State for Tourism and Culture Shri Surendra Patwa, Chief Secretary Shri Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Tourism Smt. Veera Rana, Secretary to CM Shri Hari Ranjan Rao, MD of Tourism Development Corporation Shri Ashwini Lohani etc. attended the meeting.
