Congress-RJD-LJP Seat Sharing Final for Bihar
The Congress-RJD-LJP comboine is reported to have amicably settled a seat sharing formula for 40 Lok Sabha seats in Bihar, the Ram Vilas Paswan led LJP is said to have gained at least four seats in the bargain while Lalu loses from his kitty and Congress maintains its stake, a formal announcement is expected on Tuesday.
“The alliance will happen cent per cent and announcement could be made tomorrow,” said a jubilant LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan in New Delhi.
Though, Paswan was hoping to double his seats from the eight the LJP contested in 2004, he is said to have settled for twelve.
Indicating a compromise, Paswan simply said: “Some adjustments are made when talks happen.”
The four seats Paswan gains come out of the RJD share, Lalu Prasad leader of the RJD has been conspicuously silent over the last couple of months, and analysts say his uncharacteristic silence just might turn out to be the proverbial lull before the next political storm he triggers.
Providing food for thought to the Congress and the Samajwadi Party that plan on friendly fights in neighboring Uttar Pradesh Paswan ruling out similar bouts in Bihar said: “I am opposed to friendly fights. Fight is never friendly.”
Analysts say the final seat combo for the 40 parliamentary seats in Bihar could be 12 seats for LJP, five for the Congress and 22 for the RJD, a number identical to its presence in the parliament during the 14th Lok Sabha.
