Madhya Pradesh Selected for World Bank’s Vice-President Team Award

For its District Poverty Initiatives Programme (DPIP) project, Madhya Pradesh has been selected for the prestigious South Asia Vice-President Team Award of the World Bank.

The announcement of the award came following successful and result-oriented implementation of first phase of the project in the state and effective preparation for its second phase by South Asia region of the World Bank.

World Bank’s Task Team Manager Nathan Belt congratulated DPIP’s State Project Coordinator DP Ahuja, the then Project Coordinator Dr Ravindra Pastor and state, district and cluster level teams working for the project for this achievement.

The Task Manager for Madhya Pradesh Luis Constantino and Martin van Newcoop were also congratulated.

It may be mentioned that the first phase of DPIP project has been successfully completed in about 3 thousand villages in 53 development blocks of 14 districts recently and the work on the second phase has been started.
