Koraput Tense, under Tight Vigil
Tension prevails in the tribal-dominated Koraput district of Orissa on Tuesday, some 48 hours after clashes erupted between two factions of a Maoist backed tribal outfit on Sunday, killing one and injuring several others.
Suresh Pindi, a tribal villager sustained injuries in the clashes that broke out between rival factions of the Maoist-backed Chasi Mulia Adivasi Sangha, he died at a hospital on Monday.
According to the police, a strict vigil is being maintained over the situation, and a strong police deployment, including three CRPF companies and three state police platoons, has been put in place.
One of the two factions has called for a tribal rally at Laxmipur today.
