Evacuation process still going on

NEW DELHI: From Libya another batch of 331 Indians from strife-torn arrived early on Tuesday.
The total number of people evacuated by the four Air India special flights reached to 1083.

Three more planes, two Boeing 747-400 and Airbus 330 left on Tuesday morning for Tripoli to airlift Indians who are still there.

“Situation in Libya is not good. The condition in Tripoli during day is normal, but it is not safe to venture out in night,” informed one of the passenger arrived from Libya.

“No Indian was harmed”, but feared “situation may get worse,” said the passenger.

On Saturday night the first flight evacuated 291 Indians from Libya and brought them back here, another Air India plane carrying over 235 people landed in India on Sunday. The first two special Air India planes had brought back 526 Indians.

Around 18,000 Indians have been evacuated through air and sea till date.
