Joshi’s murder case is to worked out by NIA

NEW DELHI: Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Uma Shankar Gupta to hand over RSS Pracharak Sunil Joshi’s murder case to the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

According to sources the Centre had been convinced that Joshi’s unsolved murder mystery could reveal the missing links between several terror blasts. It will soon use powers vested under Section 6 and Section 8 of the NIA Act, to transfer the case to the investigating agency.

While Section 6 empowers the Central Government to suo motu transfer any offence related to Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and several relevant sections of the IPC to the NIA, under Section 8 it can allow the NIA to investigate any other offence connected with the scheduled offences, which the accused is alleged to have committed.

The sources of NIA hold the Centre that Joshi murder case was crucial to establish several links between the Samjhauta Express blast, Malegaon, Mecca Masjid and Dargah Ajmer Sharif cases and was also likely to provide the basis to unravel the larger conspiracy behind it leading to establish linkages between various alleged offshoots of the RSS.

Joshi was murdered under mysterious circumstances at Dewas in Madhya Pradesh in December 2007.

The NIA is convinced that besides unravelling Sunil Joshi’s murder mystery, the interrogation of the three absconding suspects, especially Ramchandra Kalsangra, would be the key to solve all missing links in these terror cases.

Sandeep Dange, Ramchandra Kalsangra and Ashok are among the three absconding terror suspects, for whom the NIA has announced a reward of `22 lakh, Kalsangra is said to be the kingpin and also the cog joining the link between various offshoots of the Sangh Parivar.
