Jharkhand Stalemate Ends, BJP’s Arjun Munda to Be CM
Following a long stalemate over government formation in Jharkhand, the JMM and the BJP have struck a final deal with both parties sharing power on rotational basis for the rest of the term of state assembly, said media reports.
JMM chief Shibu Soren will resign as chief minister on May 25 and BJP’s Arjun Munda will succeed him, said reports.
According to agreement, the BJP will lead the government and occupy the chief minister’s post for the first 28 months, reports said.
Each party will head the government for a period of 28 months, beginning with the BJP, said reports.
