Jaitley Fails to Solve Crisis in Karnataka

With differences between Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and dissidents led by three influential ministers going on, BJP has called the warring factions to Delhi for talks.

Arun Jaitley, BJP central observer, who is in Bangalore to resolve and defuse the crisis, told reporters, “I have spoken to both sections. The party will resolve the crisis soon.”

At the end of his three-day hectic parleys with Yeddyurappa, ministers, MLAs and dissidents led by Tourism Minister Janardhan Reddy, Jaitley nevertheless said that there would not be any change in Yeddyurappa’s leadership whose government was functioning well.

He declined to specify when the crisis was likely to be resolved, saying “no time frame is set”. Party leaders from Karnataka will come to Delhi for further dialogue with the party high command, he added.
