India, Pak Should Talk for Dealing with Terrorism: Pak Minister

Pakistan’s Minister for Population Welfare Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that mainstream politicians of India and Pakistan have become victim of terrorism and they should hold talks to deal with the challenge insurgency, reported ANI.

“The mainstream leadership of both the countries has become a victim of terrorism. Now, both the countries have to sit together to deal the challenge of terrorism. Both governments of the countries have to find a treatment to this disease and for that composite dialogue is the answer and we should move in that direction,” the minister was quoted as saying while talking to reporters.

“Terrorism was a global phenomenon and it needs to be addressed through a global strategy. No single country has the capacity to handle the menace single-handedly,” she was quoted as saying.

She said that if leaders of both countries held a meeting, it would augur well for India and Pakistan, report said.

“If this (meeting between Indian and Pakistani Prime Ministers) would happen then it will be a good signal for both the countries,” Awan was quoted as saying.

Highlighting the need for strong trade relations between the two neighbours, she suggested that Pakistan could serve as a gateway for Indian goods to Central Asia, said report.
