Ensure adequate drinking water supply in summer: Chief Minister Shri Chouhan Chief Minister reviewed the works of drinking water schemes in Sagar and Shahdol divisions

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that under the Jal Jeevan Mission, adequate supply of drinking water to the common man should be ensured in the summer season by completing the works being done in the districts with quality in a time-bound manner. Efforts should be made to benefit the common people by the end of April from the schemes in which the work is almost completed. There will be a review meeting of the mission’s work again this month. Instructed senior officials to get third party inspection done for the delay in water supply after the completion of the work of the scheme in Manpur in Umaria district. Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the works of the Mission in 9 districts of Sagar and Shahdol divisions in Mantralaya meeting hall today. Chief Minister Chouhan started the review from Niwari of Sagar division. It was informed that group tap-water schemes are being implemented for 253 villages at a cost of about Rs 400 crore in Niwari district. The plan of Niwari has been completed and water is being supplied for the last three years. Work in two schemes of Prithvipur is also in a state of completion. In the first and second group schemes of Prithvipur in the district, arrangements have been made to provide drinking water to every house in 58 villages. In Damoh district, work is being done on group tap-water schemes for 1163 villages by sanctioning an amount of Rs 1762 crores. Water supply has started in Byarma. Jabera-Tendukheda, The works in Damoh-Patera and Buxwah are almost complete. In Damoh district, 137 single village tap-water schemes have been approved, out of which 74 have been completed. In Sagar district, works are being done for one thousand 810 villages with an amount of two thousand 752 crore rupees. Physical progress is 82 to 91 percent in Gadhakota, Bakswah and Madiya schemes, water supply will start soon here. While reviewing the ongoing schemes in Tikamgarh district, CM Chouhan said that the work of 126 ongoing schemes in the district should be completed soon. It was informed that 70 works have been completed in the district. CM Chouhan reviewed the schemes implemented in Umaria, Anuppur and Shahdol districts of Shahdol division and gave necessary instructions. It was informed that few years back there was scarcity of drinking water in Akashkot area of Umaria district.
