Haryana CM’s Copter Makes Emergency Landing
A helicopter carrying Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda from New Delhi to Punjab had to make an emergency landing at Hisar due to inclement weather.
Navdeep Singh Virk, superintendent of police said that the chief minister, his political advisor Virender Singh who was accompanying him and the chopper crew were safe.
Virk said that Hood and Singh were going to Mukstar when because of “bad weather” the copter was forced to make an “unscheduled landing” at Hisar, some 160 kms from Delhi.
Later, chief minister returned to Delhi by road. Heavy rainfall lashed many parts of Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh disrupting normal life in the region today.
Last week, a chopper ferrying Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S R Reddy had crashed in inclement weather, killing him and four others on board.
Just days earlier, a helicopter carrying Punjab deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal was forced to make an emergency landing at Jalalabad in Ferozepur district due to some technical fault in the helicopter.
