Gyaneshwari Express Driver Lodges FIR, Doesn’t Mention Maoists

A day after derailment of Gyaneshwari Express triggered by the Maoists, the driver of the train has filed an FIR in the Jhargram police station, said media reports.

Nevertheless, the report has no mention of the Maoists or any other group suspected to have executed the sabotage in which over 100 people were killed, reports said.

The driver stated in the FIR that he heard a loud sound which sounded like an explosion and then saw smoke coming out from the wheels of the train, said reports.

He further stated that he soon realized that a train was coming from the opposite direction and despite his sounding an alert for the goods trains, it rammed into his train, said reports.
