Godse’s photo on Ram Navami: Owaisi slams Hyderabad police for inaction

All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday said that some people are roaming around with Nathuram Godse’s photo in Hyderabad. He was the first terrorist of the country, Godse shot Gandhi. People are roaming around the city with his photo and the police are sitting silent. He was addressing the people at the Munkid Jalsa Youm-ul-Quran at Masjid-e-Umar Farooq Shaikpet.

In fact, some people were seen carrying Nathuram Godse’s picture during the procession on Ram Navami. On this Owaisi said that someone standing in our city says that I will make India a Hindu nation. The limit was reached when people brought Nathuram Godse’s photo to Hyderabad.

I don’t understand why those people are roaming around with the photo of Nathuram Godse, who was the first terrorist of the country. The one who shot Gandhi. After all this the police is sitting silent. Owaisi raised the question that who are these people? And what kind of police is this which is sitting silent. If someone used to roam around with a photo of Osama bin Laden, the police would break down the door of his house.

This is not the first time that Owaisi has made such a statement regarding Godse. Earlier in January 2023, he had demanded the central government to ban the film on Nathuram Godse. Owaisi had asked the government whether the film on Godse would be banned in the same way as the BBC documentary on Prime Minister Narendra Modi was banned.
