During Pune Visit, Headley Stayed Near Jew Centre
Pakistan born American national and suspected Lashkar operative David Coleman Headley had stayed in a hotel near a Jewish centre when he visited the Osho Ashram in Pune in 2008-09.
According to reports, police is probing into Headley’s stay at hotel ‘Surya Villa’ on March 16 this year, when he also paid a visit to the Osho commune in the vicinity.
Media reports said quoting unnamed sources that there is another Jewish establishment in the city too, Ohel David Synagogue located in Cantonment area. After Mumbai terror attacks, security at both the Jewish establishments has been tightened and they are still under vigil.
Besides, police is scanning the documents related to a day’s stay by Headley at the hotel on March 16 and verifying details of the American passport copy submitted by the hotel management.
Police were passing on fresh leads to NIA, entrusted with the investigations in the case, sources added. The Pakistan-born US citizen and his Canadian aide Tahawwur Rana were arrested by FBI for plotting terror attacks in India.
