Over 1.25 lakh posters, banners and hoardings removed under model code of conduct

Bhopal: So far, one lakh 26 thousand 60, banners, hoardings etc. have been removed in Madhya Pradesh following promulgation of model code of conduct. These include wall writings also, which have been removed. This action is being taken in all districts under Prevention of deforming to Public Property Act to prevent misuse of public and private property by people of political parties.

Implementing Prevention of deforming to Public Property Act strictly, one lakh 13 thousand 299 posters, banners etc have been removed. These include 22 thousand 401 wall writings, 37 thousand 428 posters, 21 thousand 987 banners and 31 thousand 483 other materials which have been removed. As many as 64 cases have also been registered regarding above-mentioned material from public property.
Similarly, 12 thousand 761 material of various kinds have been removed from private property. These include 3415 wall writings, 3029 posters, 2109 banners and 4208 other materials. All these things were put up without permission of owners of private buildings. It is noteworthy that all political parties have been asked under model code of conduct to direct their followers not to put up or paste banners, posters of any political party or candidate and write slogans on land, building, Ahata, wall etc. without permission of land owner.
