Dwayne Bravo creates unwanted record after nightmarish final over in CSK vs MI clash

Mumbai Indians scored 88 runs in the last six overs as Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard tormented the Chennai Super Kings bowling attack in the clash between the two sides at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday. Dwayne Bravo was taken to the cleaners in the last over as Hardik and Pollard ended the innings in some style smacking the West Indies all-rounder for 29 runs in the final over.

Bravo recorded the worst figures by any bowler in an over this season as he was smashed all around the park by the MI duo. He also registered the worst figures by any CSK bowler in an over in the history of the Indian Premier League. No CSK bowler has ever conceded 29 runs in a single over in the competition.

He was once again trusted with the responsibility to bowl the final over by CSK skipper MS Dhoni but Bravo failed to deliver this time around. Pollard got a single off the first ball before Bravo bowled a wide. Hardik took a single off the next ball and Pollard slammed a six off the third delivery which was also adjudged as a no-ball for above the waist height.

Hardik then went berserk towards the end of the 20th over as he slammed a six, four and a six off the last three deliveries to get 29 runs from the over and propel Mumbai Indians to a strong total of 170/5 on the board.

Most runs scored off an over in IPL 2019:

29 Hardik Pandya/Keiron Pollard off Bravo
28 MS Dhoni /R Jadeja off J Unadkat
25 S Narine off V Chakravarthy
25 R Uthappa/ A Russell off Mohd Shami

Hardik came with an intent to go all out right from the first delivery he faced and he produced a sensational display of power-hitting to leave even a calm and composed Dhoni, running out of ideas. He scored a quickfire 25 off 8 deliveries and remained unbeaten till the end. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav (59) and Krunal Pandya (42) also played two crucial knocks to help Mumbai reach the 170-run mark.
