Delhi Assembly polls: BJP Parliamentary Board meeting today to select candidates

New Delhi: The BJP Parliamentary Board meeting, which will take place on Monday evening, will decide on the 70 candidates for the Delhi Assembly polls, scheduled to be held on February 7.
Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Kiran Bedi, who joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on January 16, is likely to head the party’s campaign in the national capital.
However, no decision, is likely to be taken on the party’s chief ministerial candidates, according to sources.
Sources said that the names of candidates will either be announced after the meeting on Monday or Tuesday morning.

Sources said that Bedi’s induction into the party has left many senior leaders and MPs uncomfortable, as she has started portraying herself as the party’s yet to be announced chief ministerial candidate.
