Farmers to have Right to Choose Payment Option in Krishi Upaj Mandis

Bhopal. As per the Krsihi Upaj Mandi Act, it is mandatory to make payment to the farmers for their agriculture produces on he same day in Mandi premises itself. As per the intention of the Act, several decisions were taken by the state Agriculture Marketing Board to facilitate the farmers to do daily business in the mandis conveniently.
As per the decisions, information as regarding payment to the farmers through R.T.G.S., bank drafts, bankers cheques or account payee cheques will be issued to facilitate farmers to choose payment option.

Procurement centers established in the cotton mandis to purchase cotton at the support price will be organized and made active. Publicity arrangements towards procurement of Paddy and corn will be made up to panchayat level. Procurement of moong at support price are being made by the Food-Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Department, S.F.A.C., NAFED, FCI and under the Price Stabilisation Scheme. This arrangement will be expanded for coming moong, urad, tuar pulses produce in the mandis. Constant vigilance will be monitor to avoid inconvenience to the farmers in fruits and vegetables mandis by the secretary krishi upaj mandi. Secretary krishi upaj mandi will made responsible to ensure deposit of valid security in mandi as per the purchasing capacity of the related licensee trader who make payment to farmers through account payee cheque. Moreover, secretary will be made responsible to ensure that the concerned licensee trader does not purchase more than the capacity.

Efforts and publicity will be made by the Cooperative department, food and civil supplies and consumer protection department to facilitate bank loan to the farmers through the warehouse receipt against produces kept in the warehouse. Moreover, constant monitoring will be done by the secretary of mandi committee to avoid inconvenience to the farmers coming to sell their produces in fruits and vegetables mandis. Use of the available storage capacity in the mandis will be done through warehousing corporation. Directives will be issued and publicity will be done to provide free storage facility to the farmers in mandis till December 15, 2016.
