Book “Dindori Man” presented to CM Shri Chouhan
Bhopal: Book “Dindori Man” was presented to Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan here today. Shri Chouhan released and praised the book, authored by Dr. Priyanka Ghose (Mrignayani) and Shri Madan Kumar. The book focuses on research of Ghora-Mora cave of Dindori.
Local people also call Ghora-Mora cave as Jamwant’s cave where skull of man has been found. The cave is very large and could have been shelter to entire clan of primitive human beings. Several bones, stone age weapons like axe, hammer, pointed stones, scrapers have been found in large number. Support of adequate water, prey, stones for making weapons and the cave proved to be a suitable dwelling for primitive man.
Extra bone has been found in the human skull in Dindori district, which is called vermanian plate. Such skulls have been found in Peru and Nevada state of the US. It is the missing link between evolution of man. Therefore, it has been named as “Dindori Man”. Man’s height has been estimated to be 7 feet 2 inch. This takes Madhya Pradesh’s human history further beyond Bhim Bethka age.
