Tikamgarh to surge ahead of Punjab, Haryana in agriculture sector!

Bhopal: Tikamgarh district of Madhya Pradesh will soon go past Punjab and Haryana as far as development in agriculture sector is concerned. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan made an announcement regarding this. He was addressing the concluding programme of National Agriculture Exhibition, Seminar and Kisan Mela under the Bundelkhan Srajan-2017.

Chouhan said that water for irrigation will be provided on 2 lakh acre land of Tikamgarh district next year from the Bansujara Dam Project. This will help Tikamgarh to emerge ahead of Punjab and Haryana in agriculture sector, he added. He further mentioned that government is committed for doubling farmers’ income and to change the destiny of villages in Tikamgarh district.

Nar Se Narayan Seva

Taking unique initiative ‘Nar Se Narayan Seva’, MP Dr Virendra Kumar bring along a person named Mathole Banskar present in the public to the stage and got him honoured from the Chief Minister Chouhan. Moreover, Chouhan presented garlanded him, presented him a gamchha and put slippers in his foot with his own hands. He also presented utensils and clothes to him.

Chouhan mentioned that interest free loan will be provided to the farmers in order to make agriculture a profitable occupation and to double the farmers’ income. He told the farmers to get the soil health card prepared containing detail information on use of fertiliser and seeds.

CM Chouhan said that an amount over Rs. 600 crore was distributed by the government in Tikamgarh district last year under the drought relief. An amount of Rs. One lakh 20 thousand has been deposited by the government in each bank account of 16000 persons for construction of houses under the Pradhamantri Awas Yojana. Under the scheme, beside amount for house, wages towards MNREGA will be given if a person undertakes construction on his own.
Moreover, Chouhan stated that a scheme worth Rs. 69 lakh 93 thousand for supply of potable water in Niwari and Prithvipur area from Parichha Dam has been made. Lift irrigation scheme costing Rs. 194 crore to facilitate irrigation drawing water from Betwa is in operation. Scheme for irrigation and potable water worth Rs. 974 crore has been made for Tikamgarh and Baldevgarh block.
