Conduct survey of hailstorm-affected crops impartially and honestly: CM

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited village Chhapari in Nasrullahganj tahsil of Sehore district affected by recent hailstorm on Thursday and inspected damage to crops. He told people of the village that the State Government stands by them in their hour of crisis. He directed officers to conduct survey with total impartiality, honestly and commitment. Strict action will be taken against the employees committing any irregularity in survey.
Shri Chouhan said that loan recovery from hailstorm-affected farmers will be suspended. Their short-term loans will be converted to long-term ones and interest for this period will also be paid by the State Government. He said that surcharge on farmers’ electricity bills will be waived. Half of the original bills will also be paid by the government. The rest may be paid by farmers in instalments.
The Chief Minister directed the district collector to ensure crop insurance benefit to farmers and explore possibility of sowing summer crops. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan interacted with people, accepted applications from them and directed concerning officers to solve applicants’ problems.
Madhya Pradesh Forest Development Corporation Chairman Shri Guru Prasad Sharma, District BJP President Shri Raghunath Singh Bhati, local public representatives and government officers were present on the occasion.
