New industrial policy based on industrialist’s suggestion till July 31

Bhopal. Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that a new industrial policy will be chalked out in the state by july 31, incorporating suggestions from industrialists and keeping in view changing economic scenario.
‘The state will become a major information technology hub. Target has been fixed to achieve 12 percent growth rate in 12th Five-Year Plan. The state has achieved 18 percent agriculture growth rate. Soon the state will emerge as top wheat producing state in the country. Sanction has been given to Horticulture Hub Policy. Now, there is special need for investment in value addition of agriculture produce,’ Shri Chouhan said, while addressing an interactive session of industrialists and investors at Pune today. The conference was organised by Maratha Chamber of Commerce and Industries and Federation of Indian Industries.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that 200 skill development centers will be opened in Madhya Pradesh for raising skilled manpower for industries. He said that land bank of 20 thousand acres has been prepared for investment in the state. The State Government has taken all necessary steps to ensure good governance. Now, public service centers are also being opened. Referring to efforts for promotion of industries, the Chief Minister said that uninterrupted power is being supplied to industries. It will also help cottage industry.
Describing Madhya Pradesh as a state with immense potential, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that conducive climate prevails for investment in the state. Buddhist University is being established at Sanchi. Due to it, Sanchi will emerge as a religious tourism destination for Buddhist countries and this will cement cultural and economic ties with these countries. He informed that Dhamma Conference is also going to be organised.
The Chief Minister invited industrialists and representatives to attend Global Investors’ Summit to be held at Indore.
Industries Minister Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya said that industrial development depends on the willpower and political stability of a state. He said that both these qualities are existing in Madhya Pradesh.
Maratha Chamber of Commerce and Industries Chairman Dr. Abhay Firodiya described Madhya Pradesh as a revolutionary state. He said that the state has made phenomenal progress during the last ten years. Its credit goes to balanced policies and result-oriented decisions. He said that state’s people are peace-loving and have deep understanding of business, which is most important for business community. He said that abundance of land resources is a major strength of the state. Madhya Pradesh has ample land available for industries whereas other states are falling short of land. State’s industrial policy investor-friendly and most importantly, the State Government promotes industries. The state is also setting new precedents in good governance, which is vital for industrial investment.
Federation of Indian Industries West Region Chairman Shri Pradeep Bhargava said that Madhya Pradesh has witnessed planned development during recent years. Most importantly, equal development has been witnessed in social and economic sectors in Madhya Pradesh.
Agriculture Production Commissioner Shri M.M. Upadhyay threw light on progress of agriculture sector and potential of investment in food processing sector. Additional Chief Secretary Industries Shri P.K. Dash gave a presentation on the state’s industrial scenario.
