BJP Crisis Deepens in Karnataka, 13 MLAs Camping in Hyderabad

The Yeddy-Reddy crisis is further deepening in Karnataka. At least 13 BJP MLAs led by Tourism Minster Gali Janardhana Reddy’s brother and former mayor of Bellary Somasekhar Reddy held up in a hotel in Hyderabad.

The current crisis is being likened to two old crisis state saw in last two decades; one, the Nandi Hills camp of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) in 1985 August crisis when the then chief minister NT Rama Rao faced a revolt within the party led by Nadendla Bhaskara Rao; and the other, the 1995 August coup hatched against NT Rama Rao, this time around by N Chandrababu Naidu who held the camp in the then Hotel Viceroy.

However, the latest political developments in the city have raised interest among the political leaders, especially those coming from Rayalaseema region and having business interest in Karnataka.

In the meantime, the 13 MLAs, according to reports, and one MP including two ministers and supporters of Gali Janardhan Reddy reached the city by a special flight and camped at the hotel at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport.

The BJP leaders after reaching the hotel preferred to stay indoors. The hotel management was asked not to provide rooms to other guests till the BJP leaders left the place.

Crew of the television channels tried to barge in to have an interaction with the BJP leaders but could not succeed with the staf f making the hotel out of their bounds.
