On 1st anniversary, Deepika Padukone wears saree to Tirupati, gifted on wedding last year

Bollywood power couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are celebrating their first wedding anniversary today. The duo, who is keeping the celebrations close-knit, were snapped at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Tirupati earlier today. Both Deepika and Ranveer were dressed in traditional wear.

While Deepika looked beyond beautiful in a traditional benarasi saree, Ranveer complemented her in a matching kurta churidaar Nehru jacket set from the collection of ace designer Sabyasachi. But it’s Deepika’s choice of outfit that demands your attention. The actress, who never fails to turn heads with her sartorial picks, decided to dress to the hilt on her first wedding anniversary. Her saree is graceful, royal and elegant. But apart from all these, her saree also holds a special place in her heart as it’s the same saree that was gifted on her wedding day.

A certain photograph from their Konkani wedding ceremony is now doing the rounds of the internet. In the said photograph, one can see that Deepika is holding a thaal which has the same saree and four small bowls kept on it. The saree was gifted to her on her wedding day and it seems it was part of her trousseau.

As for Deepika’s royal look today, the actress decided to go all traditional. She chose a classic benarasi saree in red with intricate gold detailing on it. To complete her look, Deepika picked out the most elegant gold jewellery – a pair of jhumkas, a choker and rani haar. She finished off her look with sindoor and made for a sight to behold.

Earlier today, Deepika also posted a photograph with Ranveer and thanked their fans and followers for all their wishes and blessings. Her caption read as, “As we celebrate our first wedding anniversary,we seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.Thank You all for your love, prayers and good wishes!
