Bihar CM Nitish Kumar loses cool at election rally as crowd chants ‘Lalu Zindabad’

Apart from Madhaura and Parsa in Saran district, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to hold rallies in East Champaran's Kesariya and Rajapakar in Vaishali on Wednesday

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar lost his cool at an election rally in Saran district on Wednesday. From videos of the event, one can hear some demonstrators sloganeering in favour of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and some against even as CM Nitish Kumar was addressing the gathering.
The election rally organised by JD(U) was being held at Derni in Parsa assembly constituency in Bihar’s Saran district. As slogans of ‘Lalu Zindabaad’ are heard in the middle of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s address, the JD(U) leader loses his calm and asks the crowd not to indulge in such actions.
“Do not make this noise here. If you do not want to vote, don’t,” Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told the sloganeers. Nitish Kumar went on to ask the crowd whether the conduct of those raising slogans to interrupt his speech was acceptable, to which supporters responded with a resounding “no”.
Among those present on the stage along with Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was Chandrika Rai. A former RJD leader, Chandrika Rai also held the transport department in the Bihar government from 2015 to 2017. Rai has been serving as an MLA from Parsa assembly constituency since 2015 and quit the RJD earlier this year following a marital dispute between his daughter and the eldest son of party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tej Pratap.
On the same day as his departure from the RJD, Chandrika Rai joined Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party- JD(U). The son of former Bihar chief minister Daroga Prasad Rai, Chandrika Rai was given the ticket to contest from Parsa constituency by JD(U) earlier this month.
Apart from Madhaura and Parsa in Saran district, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is scheduled to hold rallies in East Champaran’s Kesariya and Rajapakar in Vaishali on Wednesday.
