Real Estate Investors Summit to be held: CM Shri Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that real estate sector has an important role in development. A Real Estate Investors Summit will soon be held in the state. He said that towns in Madhya Pradesh are being developed as per requirements of modern India. Shri Chouhan was addressing concluding session of India Today Real Estate Conclave 2012 here today. India Today magazine editor Shri Deepak Mandal, Shri Saeed Ansari and large number of real estate developers were present on the occasion. At the programme, the Chief Minister also replied to participants’ questions.

Shri Chouhan stressed the need for following human aspects of development. He said that progress of human resources is also necessary along with development of basic infrastructure. Total development will be achieved only when development becomes a medium to express human sensitiveness. He said that decision has been taken in Madhya Pradesh to implement public welfare schemes along with making available basic amenities in rural and urban areas. He said that efforts have been made in the state to ensure that youths should not have to migrate for acquiring knowledge & education and seek jobs. Opportunity of 27 lakh jobs is expected to be created through MoUs signed at the recent Global Investors’ Summit in the state. He said that city development plans of every town of the state are being chalked out for providing facilities to urban population. So far, development plans of 111 towns have been prepared. He said that he personally believes that water supply arrangements should not privatised. He informed about Mukhyamantri Shahri Adhosanrachna Yojna, Mukhyamantri Pey-Jal Yojna and scheme to supply 24-hour power supply from next year. City bus link service has been started in selected cities to promote public transport. Survey of metro rail has been completed in Bhopal and Indore. Beside concerted efforts for solid waste management, efforts are also being made for cadre management of urban services.

Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in the democracy, common man is the Chief Minister. He said that it is necessary of healthy democracy that society is live. It should be active at intellectual level. He said that administration should implement schemes by acquiring good ideas. Government machinery should be run by the people. Such efforts have been made in the state through organising various Panchayats. He said this conclave is also a similar panchayat. Every possible effort will be made to implement conclusions of the conclave. It is necessary for controlling corruption. Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act has been implemented in the state to ensure that government services are provided within time-limit. Services right from tap connection upto building permission have been included under the Act. He said that private sector’s cooperation in real estate is very necessary. Besides all necessary arrangements, it has also been ensured that there is no arbitrariness. Provisions have also been amended as per requirements of real estate. Arrangements have also been made to ensure basic necessity of labourers’ housing before construction of government and private buildings. In answer to a question, he made it clear that rules will not be amended under pressure from any section.

Expressing gratitude, India Today editor Shri Dilip Mandal said that Madhya Pradesh has become the best state of the country as a result of the steps initiated by its government during global recession. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has carried out successful work to remove Madhya Pradesh from the list of sick states, he added.
