Aim to bring state on top in Rural Development with cooperation of all: Shivraj Singh Chouhan

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state government is committed for proper arrangements of basic necessities like Roti, Kapda, Makaan, education and medicines for people in the birth centenary year of Pt Deendayal Upadhyaya. Chouhan was addressing at the conclusion of ‘Gramoday to Bharat Uday’ campaign at village Ahmedpur in Sehore on Wednesday.
Chouhan mentioned that cooperation from all is must to bring Madhya Pradesh on top in the field of rural development. Sarpanchs-Panchs should use their power and discharge their duties sincerely and judiciously. Chouhan administered pledge to the villagers that they will pay special attention towards sanitation in their villages and public welfare works like plantation.
CM Chouhan said that 25 lakh 70 thousand applications concerning personal demands and 3 lakh 33 thousand applications related to community works have been received in gram sansads organized in 22 thousand 80 gram panchayats. The applications are being examined gram panchayat wise. Officers visiting each gram panchayat from June 1 to 10 will inform villagers about the actions taken on their applications. Minister in-charge of Districts will conduct a surprise inspection from June 5 to verify the action. Chouhan further mentioned that amount is being provided to 7 lakh eligible poor villagers for house construction in the current year. A target has been set to ensure that no eligible person remains houseless till 2022. Amount for house construction will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Additional sum of Rs 5 Thousand to House beneficiaries for Planting 5 saplings

Chief Minister Chouhan made an announcement that an additional amount of Rs. 5 thousand will be paid to the beneficiaries constructing houses under various housing schemes if they plant 5 saplings of fruit bearing trees.
Referring to the development works being carried out in rural areas, Chouhan said that gram panchayats have been entrusted with powers to carry out small works. Right for repair works under tap water schemes at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh have been given to the gram panchayats. Moreover , right to write a CR of secretaries have been given to the sarpanchs. He clarified that that on one hand sarpanchs performing their best will be awarded by the state government and on the other stern action will be taken against panch-sarpanch muddling in the schemes. Chouhan further mentioned that gram panchaytas power for undisputed mutation has been decentralized to the gram panchayats.
