Basu’s Condition Improves

Doctors attending to CPI(M) patriarch Jyoti Basu on Sunday said there was slight improvement in the former West Bengal chief minister’s condition though he continues to be on oxygen and respiratory support.

Basu (95) was admitted to the ICU at Kolkata’s AMRI hospital with pneumonia.

He would be kept under observation for at least the next 48 hours in the ICU, said media reports citing the doctors.
