45 Quintal Explosives Meant for Maoists Seized in Gaya

Special Task Force (STF) of Bihar police has recovered nearly 45 quintals of explosives meant for Maoists from two places in naxal-hit Gaya district.

Superintendent of Police S M Khopade said that after getting a tip off police conducted a raid at a shop at Gaulakhshni area in Gaya and seized 29 gunny bags full of explosives.

He said that the STF also raides house of one Hari Yadav, suspected to be linked with the rebels, under Delhi police station and recovered 70 sacks of explosive materials, most of which ammonium nitrate.

He said the each sack contained 40 to 45 kg of explosives and that huge quantity of naxal literature was also recovered during the police operation.

The explosives were highly inflammable and forensic experts have been called from Patna to test the material, the SP added.
