Denying All 26/11 Charges, Kasab Says He Came to Work in Films
The only surviving attacker of last year’s Mumbai terror strike Ajmal Amir Kasab has denied all charges labeled against him, citing he was forced to confess earlier.
Kasab, who has been accused of various charges ranging from waging war against the nation to conspiracy and murder, claimed that he earlier confessed in the court and in custody under duress.
He alleged that he came to Mumbai on a visa 20 days before the attacks on November 26 last year and his plan was to work in films. He said that he was arrested on the night of November 25 and has been falsely implicated in the 26/11 case.
Kasab claimed that he was not involved in the terror attacks on the Chhatrapati Shivaji Railway Terminus (CST) on November 26 last year.
He had made three confessions after his arrest. He had admitted that his guild in the front of the police and before magistrate that would be take into account as evidence. He also confessed his guilt in the special trial court.
The prosecution had closed the case on Wednesday after hearing nearly six hundred witnesses for a period of over seven months.
Ten gunmen had landed on Mumbai shores by boats at sunset on November 26, 2008 and fired randomly inside a railway station, a Jewish settlement, a cafe and two luxury hotels.
Several people were held hostage for the next three days and at least 166 died and over 304 were injured, before commandoes smoked out the last of the terrorists on November 28 last year.
