Andhra DGP to Return to Office

Andhra DGP to be reinstated SSP Yadav, who reportedly praised Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy when election code was in force and consequently remove from his post by election commission, is being reinstated.

While talking to media persons, the Chief Minister, when asked if Yadav is being brought back, responded in positive.

“Immediately,” he said, adding orders for the appointment of Yadav as DGP are being issued.

It may be mentioned that the Election Commission had ordered the removal of Yadav as DGP for showering praise on Reddy when the model code of conduct for the elections was in force.

Subsequently, A K Mohanty was appointed DGP by the commission.

Yadav was in the news again when he participated in a review meeting, allegedly without holding any official position, held by Reddy before the elections in his native Kadapa district.

Yadav, a 1972-batch IPS officer, was appointed as the DGP by the Rajasekhara Reddy government in October, 2007.
