AAP issues showcause notice to rebel MLA Vinod Kumar Binny
New Delhi: Ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Friday issued a showcause notice to its dissident MLA Vinod Kumar Binny, after his outburst against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and the party leadership.
The party has asked the Laxmi Nagar MLA to respond to the show-cause notice by Saturday 5 pm. “The party has issued a showcause notice to Vinod Kumar Binny for violating the party rules under section 6-1-a of the party constitution. He has been asked to respond to the show-cause notice and give his reply to party’s national secretary Pankaj Gupta by January 18 before 5 pm,” party spokesperson Deepak Vajpayee said.
Despite several attempts to contact Binny, he remained unavailable for comment. At the press conference on Thursday, Binny had mounted a sharp attack on Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by calling him a “dictator” and accused his government of cheating people, prompting the party to threaten disciplinary action against the legislator.
