23 Sainiks Arrested for Attack on IBN Lokmat Office

In connection with attack on news channel IBN Lokmat offices in Mumbai and Pune, at least 23 Shiv Sainiks have been arrested with reports saying that Sunil Raut, brother of Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, was behind the attack.

Police said that Sunil, who lost the recent Maharashtra Assembly election from Bhandup, has been on run and a massive manhunt has been launched to capture him.

Of 23 Sena activist arrested, 17 were held in Mumbai and six in Pune. Of these 17 captured in Mumbai, seven were handed to the police by new channel’s staff on Friday following attack.

All Sena activists arrested in connection with the attack will be produced before the court on Saturday.
