Rural craftsmen need opportunities and market: Raghav jee

Bhopal: Finance Minister Shri Raghavji has stressed the need for providing proper opportunities to rural craftsmen and artisans to display and market their products. Shri Raghavji was inaugurating “Srajan Mela-2013” of the Jan-Abhiyan Parishad on the premises of Ravindra Bhavan here today. Parishad’s Vice-Presidents Shri Pradeep Pandey and Dr. Ajay Shankar Mehta were also present on the occasion.
Shri Raghavji said that small enterprises give jobs to more people. Citing the example of Lijjat Papad industry in Jabalpur, he said that over 3000 women are getting employment in the unit set up just at cost of few crores of rupees. He said that effective implementation of government schemes is possible only with community participation. He said lauded Jan-Abhiyan Parishad’s initiative to involve community with development works. He said that activities of the council are extending upto grassroot level, which is resulting in speedy upliftment of rural areas.
Vice-President Dr. Mehta informed that this is the first state-level craft fair where craftsmen of all 313 development blocks will display and sell their products. At the fair, rural cuisines, indigenous treatment, bonsai tress, equipment made with indigenous technique etc. have been displayed.
The Finance Minister also visited stalls put up in the exhibition. Parishad’s advisor Shri Raghavendra Gautam, Shri Ashok Rai, Kumari Bharti Kumhare, Bhopal District Unit Vice-President Shri Mahesh Joshi, other office-bearers and large number of craftsmen and craft lovers were present on the occasion.
