Job oriented training to 48 lakh persons in 12th five year plan

Bhopal : Under Skill Development Programme, job-oriented training will be imparted to 48 lakh persons during the 12th Five-Year Plan. A target has been set to important technical training to 15 lakh persons in rural and urban areas of the state next year. Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojna is being chalked out for giving fillip to creation of employment opportunities through skill development. This information was given at quarterly review meeting of Technical Education and Skill Development Department at Mantralaya here today. It was informed at the meeting that a “Skill Summit” will be organised jointly by N.S.D.C and Indian Industries Federation at Bhopal in the second week of September.

Reviewing activities of technical education and skill development schemes, Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan directed to prepare courses of Industrial Training Institutes as per industry’s requirements. Giving instructions to concerning officer for chalking out scheme to establish one I.T.I. in every block, the Chief Minister said that arrangements should be made to teach girl students trades conducive to existing scenario. He said that a detailed study should be made as to where and what kind of employment was made available to I.T.I. trained youths.

Giving instructions to expedite construction of buildings of Industrial Training Institutes, Shri Chouhan action will be taken against the agencies delaying this work. Referring to efforts for increasing quality of training, Shri Chouhan directed to implement concept of “Smart Classroom” in all the polytechnics and Industrial Training Institutes. In view of delay in posting of candidates selected by Professional Examination Board due to delay in police verification, the Chief Minister direct to consider it to bring under the purview of Public Service Delivery Guarantee Act.

Referring to efforts for promoting traditional skills and improving them as per new requirements, Shri Chouhan directed to chalk out an action plan for making available skilled human resources in villages. It was informed at the meeting that 4902 students are in the first batch of Skill Development Centres. There will be total three batches in a year. I.T.I’s of Sheopur, Burhanpur, Barwani and Rajgarh have been upgraded to Model I.T.I’s.

Technical Education Minister Shri Laxmikant Sharma, Chief Secretary Shri R. Parasuram, Principal Secretary Technical Education Smt. Ajita Bajpai Pandey and concerning officers were present at the meeting.
