Information Being Provided to Farmers to Derive Full Benefit from Krishi Mahotsav

Bhopal. Krishi Kranti Raths are providing information from April 15 regarding new, advanced techniques and methods of agriculture to the farmers visiting villages under the Krishi Mahotsav -2017. Krishi Kranti Raths furnish information related to agriculture to the farmers reaching two gram panchayats every day. As many as 626 raths have been deployed in the entire state in this regard. Farmers are utilising their spare time in obtaining information related to agriculture production and how to increase the productivity through Krishi Mahotsav. The farmers will be able to earn more profit from less input cost utilising new and advance agriculture techniques in their farming. Besides agriculture, information on other occupations like fisheries, animal husbandry, poultry farming, horticulture and forestry etc. is being provided to the farmers.

Lakhs of Farmers Gathered Information in First 12 Days

Two Krishi Vigyan Melas and 62 Block level Seminars were organised in the first 12 days of Krishi Mahotsav. In the first 12 days, agriculture related information on various techniques, new farming methods, new seeds, agriculture equipments, balanced fertiliser, agriculture produces, change in crops cycle, agriculture forestry, less input cost in agriculture, organic farming, horticulture crops etc. were provided to 7 lakh 2 thousand 318 farmers in 13,082 gram panchayats by the agriculture experts, progressive farmers and officers.

A total of 54,977 horticulture saplings, 69,212 forestry saplings on charge and free 2 lakh 56 thousand 861 soil health cards have been distributed to the farmers.

Moreover, the farmers are being informed about the inseparable part of the agriculture like conservation and upgradation of animals by the krishi kranti raths. In the last 12 days, sterility cure of 47, 128 animals, medical treatment of 4 lakh 13 thousand 790 animals, vaccination of 5 lakh 44 thousand 736 animals, castration of 25,313 animals, artificial insemination of 8,636 animals have been done.

In the first 12 days, free 629 quintal food grain was given by the farmers observing Vishesh Poshan Diwas.
