Shutdown Partially Disrupts Life in Telangana

A shutdown called by students of Osmania University protesting the Terms of Reference (ToR) of the Srikrishna Committee has partially paralysed life in Telangana region of Andhra Pradesh, said media reports.

Shutdown affected services of the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) at a few places, said reports.

Reports said that the Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Osmania University Students prevented buses coming back from Shiva temples in Telangana after Shivratri festival.

The impact of shutdown on shops, business establishment and educational institutions was partial, too.

The shutdown was called by the students of Osmania University, the nerve-centre of the separate statehood agitation, a day after the Telangana panel’s agenda was announced by the Centre.
