Baghel presents mirror to PM on April Fool’s Day

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel sent a mirror to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a gift on April Fool’s Day so that the latter could see his “real face” whenever he would look into it.

The chief minister on Monday announced about his unusual gift in a tweet in which he also posted the online order with complete shipping address of PM Modi.

Baghel in his tweet said “I want to send you this mirror as a gift. Keep this mirror at a place you constantly pass through in your Lok Kalyan Marg residence so that you can see your face all the time and try to recognize your real face”.

“Maybe you will not use the mirror and dump it in a dustbin. Still, you can’t avoid a mirror. The 125-crore people of this country will show you the mirror. Are you ready, Modiji?” the CM tweeted adding the hashtag #ModiVsModi.

He also posted an open letter to the Prime Minister on his Facebook post mentioning about the mirror gift. There also he criticised Modi’s policies.

“Modi has given himself several names that people get confused by which name to call him…Chaiwala, Fakir, Chowkidar, Saheb and many more,” he said.

Baghel targeted Modi on wide range of issues starting from his expensive suits, foreign tours, GST to policies related to Pakistan and China and Rafale deal. He claimed that all of Modi’s promises turned out to be a “jumla” as none of them was fulfilled.

“People are not able to recognise your real face. Do you remember which one is your real face? Before you come to people wearing another mask of lies, I am sending you the mirror as a gift,” he added.

Later, Congress’s state general secretary and chairman communication wing Shailesh Nitin Trivedi taking a cue from Baghel sent a mirror to state BJP president Vikram Usendi on the same day.

Another mirror was sent to former chief minister Raman Singh by senior Congress leader Karuna Shukla who unsuccessfully contested against him from Rajnandgaon in the 2018 assembly constituency.
