Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro Launch Highlights

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 6 Pro, the successor to the popular Redmi Note 5 Pro, will launch today in India and the smartphone is already creating ripples in the market. The launch event will kick off at 12pm IST and you can follow the launch right below our live blog. One of the biggest highlights of the Redmi Note 6 Pro is its quad cameras. It sports two cameras at the back while there are two at the front. Talking about the design, the Redmi Note 6 Pro features almost identical design as its predecessor though the major difference is at the front.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro price in India is expected to remain around the price of Redmi Note 5 Pro. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is also introducing the display notch to the Redmi Note series.

1:00 pm: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro price in India starts at Rs. 13,999 for the 4GB RAM version while the 6GB RAM version is priced Rs. 15,999. Every Unit will be shipped with an ultra-slim protective case and the smartphone will go an sale via Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Stores accross India from Novemner 23. Both the versions will be available with a discount of Rs. 1,000 just for November 23 as the sale starts at 12 pm.

12:55 pm: Made for India power adapter which can withstand upto 380V of voltage fluctuations. There will also be a 3.5 mm audio jack which now comes with rust protection.

12:50 pm: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a display notch Corning Gorrila Gass Protection, Aluminium build with curved adges along with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixels) display with19:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass display. The smartphone will be available in Black, Pink, Blue and Red colour options.

12:45 pm: The Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with WiFi Passthrough, which will help uses in connecting multiple devices with a single WiFi access. There is a 4000mAh battery which now comes with Quick Charge 3.0 support, however, the box content will still include a 10V charger.

12:40 pm: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 636 SoC under the hood paired with Adreno 509 GPU. The smartphone will come with upto 6GB of RAM and the Note 6 Pro will be able to load apps 30 per cent faster. Moreover, the device will be the first handset in India to run MIUI 10 out of the box,

12:35 pm: This brings us to the dual front camera including a 20-megapixel primary sensor and a secondary 2-megapixel camera. The the hardware update helps the front camera to click detailed portrait while it comes with super pixel technolony for better low-light photography. Other features includes AI Beauty, AI Scene Dectection which can detect 12 categories.

12:30 pm: Coming to the portrait mode, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will perfectly differenciate between the subject and the background for a perfect portrait shot. This is being called AI Portrait 2.0. You also get adjustable bokeh, studio lighting and Light Trail options for the camera.

12:25 pm: With the Note 6 Pro, you will also get faster focusing as well as dual pixel autofocus. This will help the camera eliminate the possibilty of blurred out images. The camera will now capture more details of the background for the picture-perfect moment. There is also the Electronic Image Stabalisation (EIS). The Redmi Note 6 Pro also comes with AI Scene detection which automatically detects the best possible scene to improve the outcome.

12:20 pm: Low-light photography has been improved with a better 1.4 micron pixel size and a wider f/1.9 aperture. The large 1.4μm sensor allows 25% more light intake, resulting in clearer photos, even in low-light.

12:15 pm: The Redmi Note 5 Pro was the best selling dual camera smartphone in India and with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, the company is bringing its first quad camera smartphone to the ountry. The primary camera comes with a 12-megapixel high performance sensor for better details along with a 5-megapixel secondary sensor.

12:10 pm: On 29th October, Xiaomi launched 500+ Mi Stores in India accross rural areas. Xiaomi made a world record by doing so.

12:05 pm: Manu Kumar Jain takes the stage for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro launch. He says that the last few quarters have been really successful for the compnay as Xiaomi shipped out over 100 million units from January, 2018 to October 2018. He also mentions the fact that Xiaomi is currently the No. 1 smartphone brand in India with around 27 per cent market share.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro: Expected price in India
Much like the Redmi Note 5 Pro, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is expected to start around Rs. 14,000 and go up till Rs. 17,000. The Chinese company launched the phone in home country in two variants featuring 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.

Apart from the four cameras, the Redmi Note 6 Pro packs a lot of upgrades compared to the Redmi Note 5 Pro. It should be launched in Blue, Black, Rose Gold, and Red colours. The smartphone sports 12-megapixel primary sensor coupled with a secondary 5-megapixel secondary camera while at the front there are 20-megapixel and 2-megapixel sensors. The phone also supports AI Portraits.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is backed by a 4000mAh battery and is powered by Snapdragon 636 processor. It comes in two variants- 3GB+32GB and 4GB +64GB.
