No stone will be left unturned in progress and development of Kevat samaj : CM Shivraj

Fishermen have the first right on government ponds and water structures Kevat Jayanti programme organized at Chief Minister’s residence

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Lord ram and Maa Sita were carried across the Ganges by Nishadraj Kevat. Kevat had immense devotion and faith in Ram. Nishadraj is no less than God for the Indian society. Kevat Samaj is a simple, hardworking and courageous community.

The Kevat community had defeated the British in the freedom struggle. Chief Minister Chouhan was addressing the Kevat Jayanti programme at Chief Minister’s residence. Water Resources, Fishermen Welfare and Fisheries Minister Tulsiram Silavat, Chairman Fishermen Welfare Board Sitaram Batham, Pintu Kevat, Rakesh Batham, Premlal Varman, Raju Batham, Mahesh Kevat and other officials and dignitaries of the community were present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that fishermen have the first right on government ponds and water structures. The possession of the ponds will be taken back from the bullies and will be given to the fishermen. The task of giving possession to the Kevat community will be done by running a campaign in the state. He said that by forming a committee, the discrepancy in caste certificate for government service will be removed. The employees who are in government service will not be put out of service. Where there is majority of Kevat community, there Nishadraj memorials, buildings will be built and statues will be installed.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that the youth of Kevat community should try to come forward in other professions apart from the traditional profession. Business opportunities will be made available under the Mukhya Mantri Udyam Kranti Yojana. Medical and engineering studies are also being conducted in Hindi so that our children do not lag due to English. 5 percent seats have been reserved in the medical seats for the children of government schools.

Chief Minister Chouhan said that under Ladli Bahna Yojana, Rs. 1000 will be deposited in the accounts of sisters every month. No stone will be left unturned in the development and progress of the society. Everyone will walk together. Will march ahead with full force.

Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silawat said that today is a holy occasion that Kevat Jayanti is being celebrated at CM’s residence. Kevat Jayanti will prove to be the foundation stone for development and progress. Chief Minister Chouhan is continuously working for progress and development and to boost the pride of the Kevat society. The Fisheries Department is setting records in the entire nation. The credit for this goes to Chief Minister Chouhan and the citizens of Kevat community. Fishermen credit cards are being made rapidly in the entire state. There will be no dearth in the development of the society. The government is standing with you under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Chouhan.

Fishermen Welfare Board Chairman Sitaram Batham said in the welcome address that Lord Kevat of our society had helped Lord Ram cross river in a boat. Kevat community has contributed a lot in the development of the country. He demanded to give rights to the fishermen and Kevat community. Demanded for rest house to stay in Bhopal. He also urged to install idols of Lord Kevat in the state.

Chief Minister Chouhan welcomed the brothers and sisters of Kevat Samaj by showering flowers and also rode on the boat, the symbol of Kevat Samaj. He offered floral tributes on the pictures of Lord Ram, Mata Sita and Kevat. The representatives of Kevat Samaj welcomed Chief Minister Chouhan. The office bearers of the society presented a memento to CM Chouhan. Kevat Jayanti began with Kanya-Pujan and lighting of the lamp.
